  16. Julia, whose career in film and theater took him from Shakespeare's
  17. Othello to the campy Addams Family movies, had turned terribly
  18. gaunt in recent months, a condition he attributed to a macrobiotic
  19. diet--but unnamed associates told reporters the actor suffers
  20. from cancer. By week's end Julia had slipped into a coma and
  21. was put on life support.
